I don't understand how I'm getting into so much damn trouble in my openings lately. Same repertoire, same rating, I never had so much trouble in this phase of the game before.
My game has been on a bit of a rollercoaster lately, but this was a fun win. I love these kinds of positions.

One for the "Never Resign!" folder: I thought NxP here forced an easy with with either BxQ or BxN but I missed Qb1+! and I just lose my queen. But I didn't give up, because I knew I had some good minor piece activity coming my way, and black made a series of innocuous looking blunders....
Fun find in the Trompowski: e5! has only been played once in the Masters db here despite eval'ing at -1.1 (the prior position was reached only six times, evidently 3. c4 is an inaccuracy) and the game resulted in a draw even though the 2600 playing black had a win on the board by move 9!

Side line from my game tonight. Obviously, white is winning six ways to Sunday, but Stockfish has a favorite move by far and if you can find it I'll eat my hat.
If I could automatically claim victory in any game where I had a better than +1.5 eval, and my opponent could do the same, I would have a rating of like 2200.
Hate it when my opponent ruins a beautiful position of mine by blundering
