⏪️ Rewind Wednesday ⏪️ Black Death in Bedfordshire includes a retelling of the legend of Pesta the Norwegian plague hag. Seen with a rake and some of your household maybe spared the black death, seen with a broom then Pesta meant doom to everyone. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p...

I’ve an award winning podcast about all that’s weird and a little off kilter in the town of Biggleswade and Bedfordshire. History with a pinch of the paranormal, folklore & urban legends. I also like cake, cats, beating bosses and disability rights.
Yes, on the 1st of August I got down my Halloween mugs. I have a lot of Emma Bridgewater mugs (no I'm not sponsored but if they fancy sponsoring a podcast then you know I'm here for that) spooky season is starting earlier for me each year! Who am I kidding its spooky season all year round for me!
Did you know Weird in the Wade has a YouTube Channel? Did you know that every episode of Weird in the Wade is available on YouTube? There's a video showing off the fab model of Cainhoe castle just uploaded on YouTube. There's also lots of shorts and longer videos I've made to accompany the show 1/2
Did I say plague enough in this post 🤣👇🏻

Are you ready for Black Death in Bedfordshire tomorrow's episode of Weird in the Wade. Part of the episode is about Cainhoe Castle at Clophill Lakes. Why was Cainhoe built? Why was it abandoned? You can visit the site at Clophill Lakes and it's well worth a visit. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p...
⚡️ Flash Back Friday ⚡️ Biggleswade's Phantom Army episode. A 15th century sighting of a spectral army. The land where this ghost army was seen is not too far away from the lost settlement of Kinwick which was abandoned after the 1349 black death and is featured on the next episode of the podcast!
⚡️News Flash ⚡️ There’s wet stuff falling from the sky in Biggleswade! This is not a drill; it’s finally raining! ☔️ (sadly it won’t be anywhere near as much as we need.)
Just a reminder that Monday's episode about the black death also covers Cainhoe Castle at Clophill Lakes which I visited a couple of weeks ago to interview it's resident historian Daniel.
Today I have been working on the next episode of Weird in the Wade, which is about the Black Death in Bedfordshire and in particular the places left as ghost villages after the 1349 plague. The image below is from the 15th Century and the artist is unknown.

I have so much to do this week. Yet I just sat watching Diploma Duck videos about Duck with ADHD for like 20 minutes. Still a good duck I guess. (This will make no sense unless you’ve seen said videos)
