My guess is that some people will find The Lighthouse Box heartbreaking. Sometimes, when I'm writing on it, I feel blindsided. I just need to make sure what I'm feeling is on the page.

It's strange to write something you hope will affect people emotionally, but have no way of knowing whether it will until people read it.

People make arguments in favor of the electoral college like “it protects the interests of small states” and no it doesn’t. Oregon is a small state, but because we’re a reliable vote for the Democrat (and with a late primary too) our votes mean nothing.

If I write this section of my novel correctly, it will be really effective, but only if I write it correctly.

I feel like I've been writing too much, but I'm not sure what I expected. It kind of comes with being a writer.

The whole thing is strange. Emily Wilson has repeatedly praised the film The Odyssey, calling it an enjoyable summer blockbuster, yet every headline makes it seem as though she hated it.

As for indicators of a healthy society, this seems like the opposite. How healthy is a zombie?
