My origin video game that basically came to define me. Okay. The two runners-up would be Yars' Revenge and Haunted House on the Atari 2600. But the one that finally said "this is it! This is really it!" is Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, also for the Atari 2600.

I'm talking about the game that flipped that little switch in your brain and made into a life-long gamer. So, which game is 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨?
From the vaults: the only known official picture of the original Dr. West. The only time this picture was used, to my knowledge, was in the instruction manual of the PC Engine port of Splatterhouse.
From the vaults: a piece of fanart titled "The Meat Cleaver" by chuckporn. The "cleaver" in question is a carcass splitter manufactured in the late 1800s.
I've talked about a lot of retro games besides Splatterhouse here, and with good reason. I've mainly sat out the last three console generations. But as I've been casually dabbling in them on and off since the 360 era, I've found some games I've liked (no legacy sequels, though). Here they are.

For a time (a very brief time, as it turned out), I streamed videogames on YouTube. Then I decided that I didn't want to do that anymore, and I moved on, but I did follow plenty of streamers. Nowadays, I'm not even really interested in watching these streams anymore (aside from a select few).

Nice to see that our local mechanic's office cat, Cat, is still kicking.
These announcements for the new Metroud and Kirby games, great. I'm not interested. But I know that a lot of you are, as is my middle daughter. That last makes me happy, because I introduced her to Metroid and Kirby in the first place. And I'm also happy for everyone else that's excited for these.
Coming to terms with some of the critiquing I've received on the draft of nothingman I sent to my writer's group is fairly sobering. I'd written some things that came off as, at best, insulting. While they are few and far between, they were there (I've removed them). This is a learning experience.
This inspired me to rename my three cats. They are now Splatterhouse, Castlevania, and Ghouls'n Ghosts.
