I think it would be helpful if everyone commenting on data centers would acknowledge the elephant in the room: we're all freaked out about AI and we don't know what to do about that quite yet.

This is one of those things that is actually pretty easy to figure out but you have to watch a few games to internalize it: stoppage time is *precisely* what is advertised UNLESS there's an injury or goal celebration in stoppage time. Then it's up to us to do the mental math.

It's weird how I've seen basically no dem '28 speculation. Sure it's early but usually by now a few people are talking about it and there's some scattered media attention to it.
I don't know it's a slogan that does have some potential. And I think slogans broadly suck. Its potential lies in its combination of being easily understandable but also quite malleable. Americans like the idea that they will one day be billionaires! Disabusing them of that is not the task at hand.

honestly assaults against officers (a charge which is almost always bullshit, like you kick an officer while they’re tasing you) is a much better metric of officer aggression than it is of aggression towards officers
Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social · last yr.We now know that an “830% increase” is an increase from 10 assaults in 6 months to 93 assaults in 6 months, at a time when DHS has *massively* increased at-large arrests and officers deployed in the community. For comparison, NYPD is averaging 194 assaults on officers per MONTH.
