1. Schools are now introducing AI without notifying parents, regardless of the negative affect on children's ability to think and function. If you have a child in public school in the US I strongly suggest a letter accompany them to school opting out of any and all AI use.
NMPED introduced AI to k-3rd graders last year without parental notification. Now Albuquerque Public Schools are EXPANDING AI use with an AI platform called Magic School. We all have our little tells and biases, our transparent influences. One of my big ones is Scooby Doo. It might not be obvious at first glance but any piece of writing longer than a few pages and Shaggy and Scooby are there in the subtext, doing their thing.
It's interesting how we are discouraged from following our passions in favor of a "safe" profession, except there no such thing as a "safe" career. What does it benefit a person to be successful in a career they hate? All the money in the world will never be enough, as has be demonstrated.
I find myself wondering if it would be possible for individual humans to get together and with intention and clarity rebuild the old internet, before it was all manipulation and extraction to benefit a handful of billionaires with the ethical sense of any angry 12 year old. Could we do that?

My rez gets water from the Missouri. They flooded us out to build damns/recreational lakes after Pick-Sloan.
