Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

Pretty sure when you win the election it's a big election night. Pretty sure when your party's leadership all endorses the loser, it means the leadership is out of touch with the electorate.

I really don’t understand why the government aren’t breaking with the US on covid and taking action. The economic burden of long covid is enormous and having rising long covid cases across a population is not good for the future of the country. It’s a major mistake.

The problem has never been overdiagnosis in health care. The problem has always been too few resources for health care that incentivised unethical & unscientific exclusions of people from seeing specialists, from accessing care, support, accommodations. There is too little, not too much health care.

Given past oversight failures around clinical trials and associated conflicts of interest at McMaster (e.g. the infamous N95 vs medical mask trial), ethics concerns need to be taken very seriously and trustworthiness demonstrated, or public confidence in the clinical trial ecosystem is at risk.
