Ok-on the bus Somebody was playing shite music loudly on their phone. Pissed off- I put my headphones in and cranked up Tay-Tay to drown them out. Half a song later, it occurs i hadn't BT connected the headphones, and as a hairy 55 year old, i was just blasting Taylor Swift to everyone on the bus😬

Guy who plays with radio and talks a lot of bollocks. Music, science, beer, weather, beer, food, swearing, movies and beer.
15 years ago today Kedr satellite, also known as SuitSat2, ARISSSat 1, and RaduiScaf-2 was launched from the ISS. The KEDR name was a salute to Yuri Gagarin’s first spaceflight. It spent 154 days in orbit with telemetry, SSTV and voice.

Phthalates, lead, strontium. The good old days when there was mibbie a choking hazard.
A rush of Germans for a cycle on my waterfall and a wee bit of RF getting out, but nothing stable. Perhaps it will build, or perhaps that was it.
Honest to goodness! Pub toilet. Guy.. cock out having a piss, hands free no less, as he was on his phone. Next to me, same, but finished. Just dangling, surfing his phone. When did this become OK!
Busy eating dinner, watching shit telly and doing the dishes, little did i realise, Italy was popping up 2m ft8. Managed to blag one before they all melted back into troposphere.
And i got N8MR again as he roved a little to the east for a new square. 12degrees with me, which is pretty much the limit, but i had a few goes calling either side and i was hearing myself, so some options west and low-ish elevation. AZ 280-320.
20min, 5w, SSB and16 in the log, EA8, EU, TA and K... nice. Overnight oats time and coffee before some hunting.
First proper over the water on satellite i feel -(RS44). The other couple have been Newfoundland/Labrador kinda area, this is proper over and also my first US station (N8MR), who just happens to be at the Canadian boarder, pretty much. So that's nice.
Just walked up the stairs carry a cup of coffee with my other hand on my hip like some sort of dandy, and i have no idea why.
If you only have time to watch one 144p video today, you might as well make it this one. A French lass gave me the CD back in ...oh 2000 i guess, fine album. Weirdly, i knew a few French lassies back then, no idea why they were here. Annalise, i thank you for the CD! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do_H...

Lots of rocking DX on 6m for other people... Hey, got and Italian SSB, an anaemic win, but a win. Last spoke to him back in 2017. Nice for both of us that we survived!
An Italian and French station briefly appeared on my 2m FT8 waterfall.. but one cycle and no evidence my signals are leaving the UK.
My mum worked at Cadbury's and got as much chocolate as she wanted to eat. My wife works at an ISP, so we get free internet access. I work for a company that makes sails for yachts. I suppose they might give me a free sail if I asked but I don't own a boat.
Weird reading about somebody's adventures in your own back yard, as it were. Still, glad he enjoyed himself.
Along the East Lothian Coast: A Barns Ness POTA Adventure & Travelogue by Thomas (K4SWL) On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, after completing an activation at Berwick Castle and Castle Vale Historic Site (GB-6732), I returned to our cottage to find my wife and daughters ready for another excursion. We…
I wonder if i can work 2 more DX before the end of the year to beat last years personal record.
That's the 2nd Hawaiian FT8 station i have seen this morning. Neither in the log of course, or the Mexican.
Its raining. Petrichor! Geosmin! It hadn't occurred that it has been so long since i smelled it. It was quite overpowering when i went and put the recycling out.
I sure spent a lot of time for only 18 contacts- but honing skillz bruh! Two passes each-ISS, SO50, FO29 and three RS44, at least one QSO on each pass, so successful-ish. SO50, really is the worst for me; every contact is scrappy, I need far better ears. But I am fou now. None tomorrow! None!
Just chatting to Jens- DA2MM on 17m; go on, look at the radio he built; go on, you know you want to. www.qrz.com/db/DA2MM

Well, that was, without a doubt my most successful pass calling CQ on RS44, more so as it was east and only 25degrees. I am so very blocked east, except for a few areas and this pass fit those perfectly.
If i work two Scandi stations in a row, LA and SM say, i will always try and find an OH to work afterwards. Any combination - but i always try and work all three.
