Some Umbrals do not take or share their blood. These Umbrals are deemed as addicts and disturbers of society. After all, it is common knowledge that Umbrals grow emotionally numb without their blood sharing rituals. Eventually they may even become so cold, they are monstrous.
In Umbral society, the standard greeting is to reveal one's forearm and present it to the other, both bite each other's forearms and drink a few sips of blood. From there, a normal conversation between friends proceeds. If one is an aquaintence, it's customary to present a drop of one's blood.
