Most of the time, I don't play video games for pseudo hyper realism. I play them so that I can escape to a reality that is different from real life. NVIDIA'S DLSS 5 is useless for me. Plus, it doesn't look real. It looks disturbing. Have you ever heard of the uncanny valley NVIDIA?

With the way current events are going, I wish those hydrostasis tanks/chambers from sci-fi were real so that I could be put into suspended animation and awakened in the future. I prefer the water tanks because I don't like the idea of cryostasis. Freezing sucks haha.

I've been doing video game VO since 2003. In my 20+ years, only ONE game has ever paid "royalties/residuals/bonus payments." That game? Date Everything. And that's ONLY because it's a game produced by professional voice actors who purposefully created a special contract for the game w/ SAG-AFTRA.
LittleKuriboh@littlekuriboh.bsky.social · 9mo agoAsk literally any voice actor if they get royalties from the video games they worked on. They will tell you no. They might even laugh. Now imagine any developer actively trying to use AI VO to save money wanting to offer something like that.
