If you're operating commercially in ANY significant way, this is a pretty good pricing guide. Do not "Compete with free"; that just makes people class you as a flawed giveaway.

Happy birthday to Mary Shelley, born on this day in 1797 📕 At 18, she began writing Frankenstein, helping to invent a whole genre and giving us one of literature’s most iconic monsters. Not a bad legacy.

I always did like poetry, but these past few years (since the pandemic) I as a sometime writer of shorter fiction find myself less enchanted and moved by fiction than by poems. Poems are… punchier? More gripping. Magical, even. Especially shorter pieces, like the below, that I've just stumbled upon.
