I’ve just seen someone with what l can only describe as resting “character who’s life is falling apart in a deeply unfunny French art house comedy” face

So last week I finished Penance by Eliza Clark and I *loved* it an intense and ragged way, so what I'm doing this week whilst I work is listening to the audiobook of Penance
She should go on TV with it and slowly, never breaking eye contact with the camera, take a big bite out of it
K-pop star Momo is under fire after breaking open a vintage graded Pokémon card to stick it on her face and keep it in her phone case
If you’re a Gondorian soldier your experience with hobbits is a tiny guy shows up with a wizard and is immediately taken in the Steward’s counsel. He saves Faramir when the Steward goes mad. A second tiny guy arrives with the Rohirrim and kills the Witch King. The first one then goes on campaign …
Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Beach Boys
Recently, I’ve seen loads of shortform video using that “Tonight will be the night I fall for you” song when talking about 00’s emo and every time I’ve been deeply confused because like… how did I miss this track? Came out after my taste had expanded. It’s literally too recent for my nostalgia.
Castle espanlade to Tron barrier in 5:12. I can do faster.
I met a traveler from an antique land who said some bullshit. I had my AirPods in so couldn’t really tell what he wanted
I would just like to let it be known that I am ALWAYS (and I mean always) open to being sent Unsettling and Sinister photos of Moose.
am i allowed to talk about how weird it is that the main way liberals philantropize trans people is by donating money to liberal nonprofits for call centers that beg us not to kill ourselves, instead of directly funding our material needs which, when deprived, lead to suicidality? is that allowed?
Sorry i meant to say we need more celebrities to donate $100 million to suicide hotlines so we can call someone who will beg us not to kill ourselves when the state takes away our medication and housing, and then send the cops to our home if we say the wrong series of words. My bad.
Don’t really think Samara Weaving works as Emma Frost but I do really hope that they give her a full send Bostonian accent like she deserves.
Spending genuinely millions of pounds making a AA-level soulsbourne style game but the final boss is a 2000s era screamer that flashes up and make you jump when the health reaches 17%.
obsessed with the font on IKEA's clam chowder packaging. this is what's in the freezer on the Nostromo

*standing up on plane* "It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass…
*standing up on the plane* Call me Ishmael. Some years ago--never mind how long precisely--having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen
When your hobbies taste like ash and your ribs feel too tight for your chest and all you think about is what’ll happen when you die that’s good right
Octopus have just casually emailed me to say "oopsie daisy we think you should have a 25% bill increase" They do this literally fucking quarterly.
Nurse, Newsagent, SAHM, or "A bit of this and that, don't ask questions"
Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?
Franz Kafka’s classic novel of alienation and isolation but he turns into a savoury Indian turnover because his name is Gregor Samosa is this anything?
It turns out you can: a) make those booktok arrows pointing tropes at the cover ads really easily 2) Just lie on the internet
Me: I don’t think I’m that superstitious Also me, seeing a darting shadow in the stairwell: “You can’t come into my flat and you should leave by the front door”
So I finished Penance and holy *shit* that book is something else. Impressive variety of very well observed voices, deeply believably and resonant characters and a scenario that feels like it could have happened in my social circle in 2006, with just a tiny little push. I can picture every character
Racoon City Police pulling over Jill Valentine
Me: It's medicinal. Cop: Ok, first of all, it's a rocket launcher.
I’m in the pub with my brothers and they’re reminiscing about the dizzy games
Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him
Made the mistake of reading about the murder of Billie-Jo Jenkins and now I’m incredibly angry again. (I’m reading Penance and it was hitting very close to home. Like, that murder happened so very close to where I grew up)
