Did what you're not supposed to do and looked at prognosis stats for mum. It's...not great. Early days and all but in a way I'm glad I know now so I can make the most of the time we have.

Always invest in things that separate you from the ground - shoes, beds, etc.
as a fashion person I have explained ad infinitum to people that footwear is truly one of the best measures of "you get what you pay for." you either buy nice footwear that will last, or buy cheap garbage that immediately wears out, it's practically law
We really do seem to be in the age of the merger when it comes to the social housing sector (as well as other sectors) at the moment. Not even Housemark is safe
Thanks Grimmy, definitely wanted to be reminded it's Edinburgh fringe time ☹️
airbnb I’m staying at unintentionally created the toughest punk album cover of 2027
Getting no work done this week. My mind is still on a coach somewhere in Holland.
New colleague said 'Nice to meet you. Sort of '. Ow. Assuming/hoping that's due to meeting via teams and not anything else, not said enough to get to annoy her yet
I believe this as well and it has changed profoundly how I see various periods in history, too.
One of my Crank Theories of Everything, at least of Everything in the Recent Past, is that we are dealing (badly) with COVID trauma we’d mostly prefer to pretend never happened.
Definite social hangover after tour. It's weird to go from spending days with someone to then knowing you're not going to see them for at least another month (or more for CG who is stepping back from choir). Feels like I've lost something important.
Oh god public speaking. Public singing is fine but standing up in front of 50 people you actually know and saying how great the guy you like is for organising something? There is not enough wine in all of Holland.
I love how seriously Amsterdam is taking pride (it's this weekend). Flags are everywhere, it's so great to see 🌈
The difference between packing for solo travel and packing for the tour is a lot. I am basically packing every dress I own 'just in case'. In case of what? No idea. But it's happening.
A Jane Austen reboot. Suppose that only works if you find Austen boring (which, as if, to coin a term)
A burnt-out employee makes a rounding error.
Having a name that's become more popular over the last few years where I live doesn't half make me paranoid. Hard not to look like a meerkat when I hear it
Not saying I'm anxious about the tour but I may have just spent a stupid amount of money on new dresses.
Concert over. We were ok but it was fun nonetheless and the acoustics were very forgiving. I also sold almost double the amount of tickets as the last concert which is good for a first go. This has been such an overly stimulating weekend. I need to be in a dark room for a while now.
How on earth do people do things every weekend. I am knackered and have a concert tomorrow. I will need at least a week to recover (which will then be choir tour- eek).
Spent the morning at St Paul's cathedral - another place I'd never visited when living in London. Couldn't get over the thought of how stimulating it would be for a chorister. You'd never get bored during the sermon with all that art to look at
That MCR gig is up there with the best gigs I've ever been to. Fire, pyrotechnics, fireworks, explosions from harlequin boobs, it really had it all. Worth every penny
Rationally I knew stadiums (stadia?) were big but actually being here is another thing completely. Feels like we're all bats scattered nesting around the edges
Rounding up some translations of Count Binface that have been appearing in foreign press 🇷🇴 Romanian: Contele Tomberonez 🇫🇷 French: Comte Tête-de-Poubelle (bin-head, more accurate than bin-face) 🇮🇹 Italian: Conte Faccia-da-Bidone 🇪🇸 Spanish: "un hombre con un cubo de basura en la cabeza" (!) In London for My Chemical Romance. Never been to Wembley before but I really hope there is some form of shade/air con. If nothing else, think of the poor eyelinerat stake
I could literally tell my mum I jumped out of a plane and she would be like 👍
Guess I can tick 'performed with a knight' off the bucket list. I say 'performed ', it was mostly standing in awe listening to him sing while trying not to forget my cue
Saw this ad for a goat on Facebook. It’s perhaps the greatest advert I’ve ever read. It’s just superb.
Tonight's concert will be excellent but I have lost my voice. Very glad there's about 150 of us singing so it doesn't matter much
