Resetting our relationship with Europe is the fastest way to boost growth. It's time to cut red tape, back small businesses, and join the Single Market and Customs Union. @libdemdaisy.bsky.social
As it’s parliamentary recess, I’ve got a summer job at the Domino’s branch in #Woking! Was fun to make a pizza and chat to the staff. Sadly, Labour’s NICs hike has had such a negative impact on their business. P.S: I'm glad pizza making is in the hands of professionals...
Britain can't wait for an Autumn Budget. The government must drop their red lines, get round the table with our European neighbours to kickstart our economy before it's too late.
Businesses in #Woking and across the country are struggling, yet unwanted betting and vape shops are springing up. My Parliamentary Committee wants to hear your views on how we can revitalise our high streets. Share your thoughts before 7 September ⬇️ committees.parliament.uk/submission/3...
This is a stark warning: the climate emergency is here, yet the Government moves at a snail’s pace. It's time for a national strategy: funding cool hubs for vulnerable groups, mandating cooling and ventilation in new homes, supporting drought-affected farmers and heat-proofing NHS facilities.
South Western Railway's diesel trains will soon be replaced by electric trains. With cancellations and delays already a big issue on the network serving #Woking, I've asked the Government to ensure that the rollout of new trains doesn't add to the problem.
Pleased to visit Byfleet Library for my weekly advice surgery. Casework surgeries let me hear first-hand about the issues affecting #Woking constituents. If you need my help please email me at will.forster.mp@parliament.uk.
Residential leasehold has failed in #Woking and across the country. People are living in subpar conditions and being held captive by their leases. I have demanded the Government regulate managing agents to end the con of leasehold.
#Woking has one of the busiest rail aggregate good yards in the country. I have pushed the Government to provide further support for the rail freight industry which would help provide a healthier environment, help build homes, and reduce congestion.
I joined James Cannon on BBC Radio Surrey. Watch as I address the appalling decision by Surrey County Council to end the free school meal holiday voucher scheme. Watch the interview in full below ⬇️ youtu.be/SwrVmuhg7_Q?...
As a result of increasing costs and taxes, high street businesses in #Woking and across the country are struggling. The Government hasn’t done enough to help - if anything, they have made things worse for businesses. I have urged them to act to ensure our high streets thrive.
Lovely to visit #Woking’s amazing Lighthouse to chat to their CEO Erik, thank the volunteers, see their new home and listen to the people they help at the Ukrainian Hub.
Even after today's announcement, high street hospitality businesses up and down the country will still be in serious trouble. Andy Burnham should take up our plan to Save our High Streets, with a proper overhaul of business rates, a crackdown on ‘ghost landlords’ and rejuvenating town centres
#Woking Borough Council is starting to create a Local Plan to build the homes that we need. I’ve recently asked the Housing Minister if the Government’s planning reforms make Local Plans toothless - he says they don’t. Have your say below ⬇️ wokingsays.woking.gov.uk/en-GB/folder...
Holding my regularly advice surgery at St Mary’s Community Centre in Byfleet, #Woking. Really useful to hear first-hand about the issues affecting constituents, tackle complex cases, and offer advice and support.

Andy Burnham has a very short window to turn this government around, end the chaos and build trust with communities the whole length and breadth of the UK.
The Royal Mail is failing the people of #Woking with delayed letters, causing missed health appointments and important documents to arrive too late. That is why I have called upon the Government to hold Royal Mail accountable with consequences for their delivery failures.
Yesterday, Steve Reed spoke in Parliament about #Woking Council’s debts. Apparently, the Labour Government have written off the entire £2.1 billion. News to me! I've written to him to clarify what he meant - or did he just mispeak?
McLaren is the largest employer in #Woking - I want to see them expand and grow. I have asked the Government to work on lowering trade barriers between the UK and USA, to help McLaren and car manufacturers sell more cars and employ more people.
It’s amazing to be working cross-party with Sir Desmond Swayne MP to support the Babies Bill, which will help ensure that every baby gets the best start in life.
Seven Prime Ministers. Nine Chancellors. Ten years. Britain's political instability is holding the country back. If Andy Burnham is serious about changing politics, he should back proportional representation and give every vote an equal voice.
Come on England! The whole country is behind you tonight! Let’s make it a night to remember. 🏴 🦁 🦁 🦁
As his last act as Prime Minister, I asked Kier Starmer in today’s #PMQs to give us a Bank Holiday if England win the World Cup! 🏴 ⚽ 🍺
Great to help open the Pyrford and Wisley Village Show and tour around the amazing stalls with the Mayor of #Woking at the weekend. It was lovely to see our local community spirit so strong!
Byfleet in #Woking doesn’t have a doctor’s surgery - meaning local people have to travel on the congested A245 to access basic health facilities. I’ve asked the Health Minister to meet with me so we can work out how to bring health facilities back to Byfleet.
This time last week, I was pleased to hold my regular advice surgery in the Eastwood Leisure Centre in Sheerwater. Good to listen to concerns of #Woking people - and help them battle against failings of the Government, property management companies like FirstPort and others.
Half of #Woking’s Asian community has Kashmiri heritage, many have raised concerns with me about human rights in Kashmir. That is why this week, I spoke in Parliament calling on the British Government to help bring an end to the communications blackout and lockdown in Kashmir.
Farage used to say, "Leave means leave." Now his latest stunt is triggering a by-election before the investigation is complete. Clacton deserves the facts before it votes. @libdemdaisy.bsky.social
