Sincerely thankful to mentors and friends who have been so helpful along the way--a slightly weird and wonderful path to political science I wouldn't change. Yet someone much wiser reminded me that titles and papers don't love us back: people tend to remember how what you did made them feel.

Article reviews may be one of my favorite parts of my job, despite how broken peer review is. Giving feedback, seeing what others are working on, and contributing to the community are fulfilling. It's also a low-stakes chance to sharpen my voice. It doesn't hurt when the manuscript is good, too.
