Night gas stations deserve their own theology. They are among the strangest places we've ever made. Bright Islands in enormous darkness. Artificial sunlight poured over pumps. Lottery signs, windshield fluid, cigarettes, energy drinks, entire people who don't want to talk about why they're awake.
