When I was a kid, i thought I hated black licorice. But i loved root beer. I know, probably different other roots, but it definitely feels like a core flavor. These days, I find it delicious. What's up with that?

One thing most people don’t know about disability is how unsafe you feel ALL the time. It’s terrifying not being able to trust your body to function properly. It’s scary to need to rely on others for basic survival. It’s frightening watching society label you expendable.

Yeah, I've been a tech nerd for decades but all the "AI" stuff really does feel like "Sooooo we're taking a type of computation that's actually bad at most things and putting it in a whole bunch of stuff to make it work worse because... if we don't the whole economy's going to crash or something?"

Imagine what would be possible if we funded education. Adequately, fully, publicly, in proportion to its importance in society and all the burdens that fall to it. Really: imagine. People in power and on the far right have, and that's why we're in this mess. They don't want that to ever happen.

Look, intellectually I understand there are situations that call for unsalted butter instead of salted butter, but emotionally there is never a time I want to be in one of those situations.
