Hey! @thetallsister.bsky.social figured out the painting is called Le Sauteur Miraculeux, Cheval de Horymir (the miraculous jumper, Horymirs Horse. Painted around 1902 by Frantisek Kupka. I actually have another of Kupka's horse paintings on my office wall called "The ballad of Epona" (1900)

This is one of my favorite paintings and it currently doesnt exsist on the internet. Its in a private collection so you cant see it in a museum and its impossible to get a print of. Ive had it saved to my phone for years from the original French auction site listing that no longer exists.

By this point I'd already tested out the colors in my sketchbook, so I knew they would blend to get the effect I wanted. Once I’ve got the light/dark areas established and basic color areas blocked out lightly, I can just keep layering more and more to get it to the final color/value intensity.
