Don’t think I’ve ever had a game this long with 0/0/0 plays 0/0/0 before. 74 moves, not even an inaccuracy from either side.
Blitz game - I’ve just sacced a knight on f6, here I played Qh6 and won in a couple of moves. Computer gives the amazing 1.Qg5+!! with the idea 1…Bxg5 2.Bxh7+! Kxh7 3.hxg5+ Kg6 4.Rh6+ Kxg5 5.Be3 mate
This from a blitz game rather amused me. The immediate 1…e5 is met by Rd5 which wipes out most of Black’s advantage. But after 1…Rc8 the bishop has no moves! White has to waste time bringing the king across, and Black can start to push the pawns. Other Black moves are fine but Rc8 is clearly best.
Totality off the coast of Menorca, with photography of the corona hampered by the sun dropping into some hazy cloud a few minutes before. But what a stunning sunset - that alone was worth the trip! That’s four for me - next stop Tangier on August 2nd next year.
Looks like Bodhana’s about to beat GM Ameet Ghasi with Black in the British Championships to move to 3.5/4 - she’s 11 years old!
Opponent played a novel pawn sack on move 4 of the Neo-Grunfeld that's never been seen in Master level play that's actually totally viable, because dxe6 Bxe6 e4?! is met by Nxe4! and white is not going to have a fun time (which is exactly what happened in game).
Stood almost close enough to touch these two earlier!

Lost a couple on @chess.com - one mainly because I disconnected, another cheat (banned already - that’s 3 in 12 games). Not the best experience if I’m honest!
Today I accidentally learned that “poubelle” (French for “rubbish” / “waste”) is named after a man named Poubelle who introduced a sort of recycling system in Paris in the late 19th century.
