New office art: "The Impatience For New Data" In 1965, the Mariner 4 probe sent back the first televised images of the surface of Mars. Unable to wait for the processed image, NASA employees hand-colored the data with crayons.🔭🧪

A "real-time data translator" machine converted a Mariner 4 digital image data into numbers printed on strips of paper. Too anxious to wait for the official processed image, employees from the Telecommunications Section at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, attached these strips side by side to a display panel and hand colored the numbers like a paint-by-numbers picture.

Not true. In their list of grievances, the Founding Fathers complained that King George III was blocking colonial laws that would promote immigration and make it easier for foreign settlers to become citizens.
