Quite often what I draw for people is greatly determined by the reference art I'm given for what the characters look like and then filtered through my own drawing habits. It's really fun when someone shows me their reference images and it's just flat out pure cartoon designs. YAY!

One of the seminars I went to had multiple title slides with AI Goku Kamehameha-ing amyloid-beta plaques and I don't know if you can justify how these kinds of graphics add anything to scientific dialogue or communication to the layman :)
