A vote to confirm Todd Blanche is a vote to make abortion bans "permanent in every single state." Those are his words. He’s privately promising anti-choice extremists he'll use the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision to crack down on nationwide access to safe medication abortion by mail- [cont...]

wild situation where accessing meta services without a robust adblocker in the UK could mean YOU have committed a criminal offence we are so far past the point where any sort of healthy govt would have clamped down on big tech. the reasons it hasn't are about 25% tech illiteracy, 75% open bribery

NEW: Over the last few months, Meta has run dozens of paid ads that included AI-generated CSAM. The ads, some of which were linking out to “nudify” apps, targeted men in the US, UK, and a dozen European countries. Some were running in the last few days

Former Republican Sen. Jeff Flake just endorsed Jon Ossoff for Senate in Georgia. "Character matters. And I want someone in that seat who takes the institution seriously and will protect the institution."

Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: What a race. I wanna say how grateful I am for the opportunity to participate in democracy. My family immigrated to this country from a place where there is not democracy. The ability to have our voices heard, to select our leaders, it is a gift that sometimes we take for granted

If you steal a hotdog, the cops drag you out in handcuffs. When Leo's Coney Island franchise owners stole $515K from workers, they got a nice little court order to eventually pay it back. Wage theft dwarfs all other forms of theft combined while penalties are a slap on the wrist.

Every single Republican candidate for governor of Minnesota (including Mike Lindell!) makes clear that if Trump tried another Operation Metro Surge in the Twin Cities, they would support his efforts to brutalize residents

So Badenoch would recruit a neo-Nazi but *not* someone who didn’t want to leave the ECHR or someone who supported our NetZero commitments. Second chances for this guy but not Dominic Grieve. The Tory party is truly wretched. It’s screwed the country, betrayed its own and lost its tiny mind.

Badenoch defends former neo-Nazi pick as council candidate
By Will Meakin-Durrant
Kemi Badenoch has said her party
"believes in second chances".
, after
the Conservatives selected a former neo-Nazi once jailed for harassing a Jewish former MP as a local election candidate.
Joshua Bonehill-Paine
posted on social media that he was "tremendously proud" that he has been chosen to stand for election to Somerset Coun-cil, in the Crewkerne South ward.
Bonehill-Paine (inset) was jailed in 2016 after he was convicted of racially aggravated harassment.
He wrote several blog posts about the former Labour MP for Liverpool Wavertree, Baroness Luciana Berger, labelling her "an evil money-grabber" with a "deep-rooted hatred of men".

He was previously jailed for producing an ad illustrated with a picture of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, which promised "an absolute gas" at a rally in Golders Green, north London.
Badenoch said: "I want to be very clear - and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis.
"Josh is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on antisemitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he [has] previously convicted but he has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew that he had caused previously.
"And the Conservative Party believes in second chances."

El-Sayed: "If all Mike Rogers got is that 'his name is Abdul, and my name is Mike,' you're gonna be surprised how many people are like, 'Yeah, but that's the Abdul who wants to bring down the price of my groceries and make sure I got healthcare. So yeah, I like Abdul over your Mike from Florida.'"
