Wednesday September 2nd was Day 157 of the Women’s Walk Across America, a cross country relay protesting the attacks on women’s rights. Walker and support volunteer out of Springfield, IL, Peggy, paused in the heat to talk about what motivated her to join the walk.

Tuesday Sep. 1st was Day 156 of the Women’s Walk Across America. Susan was out there alone, as she will be many days in the next 10 days. Is there anyone within driving distance of eastern Illinois that would be willing to keep her company and share the task of carrying the baton through this heat?

Sunday August 30th was Day 154 of the Women’s Walk Across America. Sometimes we get a little caught up in the physical tasks of the walk itself, and it can be hard to find the space to share our progress with you all. We hope you’ll understand when we occasionally need to play a little catch up.

August 28th was Day 152 of the Women’s Walk Across America. Emily, Katie, & Danny walked 12 miles from Dawson to Iliopolis, shared some great food provided by volunteer Peggy, and never stopped chattering, about everything from heavy metal to religion and domestic violence. Follow our journey!

Twin sisters Cathy and Lin have wrapped up their time on the route. Together they covered 55 miles, from Alton to Thayer, Illinois, and did so with so much heart. We are so grateful to them for carrying the baton these past 5 days and getting us that much closer to our ultimate destination in DC.

Jefferson City, MO - 8/6 The weather was wild, with rivers of water flowing down the streets and booming thunder in the morning (which we chose to see as divine endorsement 😁) and then beautiful sun breaking through storm clouds in the afternoon that allowed us to put in a very pleasant few miles.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

Whoops! Forgot to post this yesterday! Thursday July 30th was Day 123 of the Women’s Walk Across America - a cross-country relay protesting the attacks on women’s rights. We are also building community, connecting like minded women across the country, reminding ourselves of how powerful we are! 💪

Day 122 of the Women’s Walk Across America, a cross-country relay protesting the attacks on women’s rights. We’re taking advantage of some cloud cover to put in some miles near Knob Noster, Missouri today - headed to Jefferson City next week! Will you join us?

Day 120 of the Women’s Walk Across America! After several days in the severe heat, Emily had to step away from the route yesterday, and thankfully twin sisters Cathy and Lin have stepped up to take the lead for a couple of days. They are braving a heat index of 120 degrees!

"There are other capable progressives weighing a run in 2028," writes @sunraysunray.bsky.social. "However, none of them can do the two things AOC can do at once: run a serious national campaign as one of the most recognized figures in the country, and pull an entire movement into being behind it."

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should run for president | Bhaskar Sunkara

The congresswoman can run a serious national campaign on the left and pull a movement in behind it. She should get in early

What does it take to walk 75 miles for a cause you believe in? Preparation and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone. Casey and her husband joined Women's Walk Across America for 4 days and here's what she packed. Follow along our journey across America, one step at a time.
