Cloud Empress at retail has been selling really well! It's been humbling to see the hype and community-building continue well after the Kickstarter two years ago.

I do actually love how much RPGs end up making esoteric symbols like mystics of old.
watt (is making Burial Cloud)@worldsbywatt.bsky.social · 2w agoI keep making my TTRPG character stats layout look more and more like something you'd receive in a free pamphlet from a cult member. Not sure if that's what we're going for, but arranging geometric shapes is fun.

Making a TTRPG about dragons is intimidating. Dragons are an incredible symbol, and way overused in fantasy media (at least their Tolkien interpretation). For Burial Cloud, I'm trying something new and weird; I hope our dragons draw people in while still innovating. Art by @pbbeta.bsky.social
The next Burial Cloud spread is up on Patreon and free to access. The game centers around three cultures (Oxite, Sky Dancer, and Mountain Keeper) and how history intertwines its winners and losers—oh, and there are feathered dragons flying around the countryside. www.patreon.com/worldsbywatt...
Such a lovely idea. Remember this, future self. These little moments tie humanity together. Improvisation and play water us like dried-up (but still surviving) desert plants, reminding us what life is about and why it is worth living.
Wilderwhim@wilderwhim.bsky.social · 2mo agoTTRPGs are special: they inspire people to get together, even if the game in question only gets played once. Every single act of playing a TTRPG with other people is a radical act! Much like the harm reduction of cooking a vegan meal for meat eaters, carbon is reduced- community expanded.

In my TTRPG Burial Cloud, we're illustrating important NPCs' most important possessions. Doctor Leonid's medical bag is filled with opiates he uses to sedate the Low-Queen Valentina. From the Outlands, Leonid conspires to upend the Oxite Empire, taking orders from a hidden cabal in the Capital.
Here’s two: CLOUD EMPRESS, an RPG by @worldsbywatt.bsky.social, has some genuinely beautiful narrative and world-building. DIE, the @rowanrookanddecard.bsky.social RPG based on Kieron Gillen’s comic series of the same name, is terrifyingly good, much like the comic on which it’s based.
