Making a TTRPG about dragons is intimidating. Dragons are an incredible symbol, and way overused in fantasy media (at least their Tolkien interpretation). For Burial Cloud, I'm trying something new and weird; I hope our dragons draw people in while still innovating. Art by @pbbeta.bsky.social

TTRPGs are special: they inspire people to get together, even if the game in question only gets played once. Every single act of playing a TTRPG with other people is a radical act! Much like the harm reduction of cooking a vegan meal for meat eaters, carbon is reduced- community expanded.

In my TTRPG Burial Cloud, we're illustrating important NPCs' most important possessions. Doctor Leonid's medical bag is filled with opiates he uses to sedate the Low-Queen Valentina. From the Outlands, Leonid conspires to upend the Oxite Empire, taking orders from a hidden cabal in the Capital.
