Principal Game Experience Designer for Magic: The Gathering at WotC. Minority owner of the Green Bay Packers. Faithful supporter of the Vegas Golden Knights. Three cats (incl. Jordy, above) let me live in their house.

The morning before I leave town is not the ideal time for my washer to decide it doesn't want to wash clothes, but I guess it wanted a summer break too. Related: Having not been in a laundromat in a while (since college?), the one near me was much nicer and much more expensive than I was expecting.

I understand that YouTube is a for-profit platform, but I feel they kind of owe it to humanity to remove ads forever from Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” video.

The response to this post talks about weight and weight loss. That may not be your thing. You can skip it if you want to. Or as NPR puts it: Weight? Weight? Don't tell me.

Went with a bunch of #WotCstaff to see Hadestown in the movie theater last night. Had a great time. It’s a remarkable production. Line of the night went to my wife who turned to me during the end credits with a small look of betrayal: “You didn’t say it was a musical.” Well… true. (She loved it.)

Gavin and I sat down with Jason to talk about #MTGxStarTrek. Had we not run out of time, I would still be in that room talking about it now. Sweet article! #WotCstaff

One last #MCAmsterdam piece, this time for @kotaku.com! Had the chance to meet with @gavinverhey.bsky.social and @wotcmatt.bsky.social to talk #MTGxStarTrek. I figured there were Trekkies at WOTC, but I didn’t anticipate how deep that love goes. kotaku.com/inside-the-m...

It is no understatement to say that Magic simply couldn't exist without the many talented, brilliant, inspiring women I am proud to call colleagues. If I have achieved any success in this gig, it is only because I learned so much from them along the way, and continue to do so. If I'm going to tag...

Above them is a sign that reads “Women of Wizards” and below them is text that reads “Women of Magic.” A black woman with curly hair playing Magic: The Gathering. She is seated at a table, holding cards in her hand, and smiling. A woman in full cosplay as Avacyn, the Purifier. She has long white hair with red highlights at the ends and white wings with red highlights. She is holding a metal staff and is in armor.A black woman ecstatically cheering. Her hand is raised in the air.

Didn’t sleep on the plane, but managed to stay up until 9:30pm and slept until 5:30am, Seattle time. Not bad. Will deeply miss strange and wonderful European hotel breakfast buffet though. Deeply miss.

Got to just skip what had to be a multiple hour line at customs and was in an Uber on the way home about 30 minutes after picking up my bags. A charmed life, indeed. First stop: I think a 7-11 to get a massive soda with lots of ice.

The seatback entertainment system has a crossword app. Sure, I’ve got 10 hours. I’ll give it a go. 1-Across, 4 letters. “One who lies.” Reveal the answer, fearfully. Yep, it’s LIAR. Okay, moving on.

Not much time left on my trip to Amsterdam. It’s been an incredible experience, but not yet complete. I know you can’t do everything in a week, but someone needs to sell me bitterballen tonight.
