Principal Game Experience Designer for Magic: The Gathering at WotC. Minority owner of the Green Bay Packers. Faithful supporter of the Vegas Golden Knights. Three cats (incl. Jordy, above) let me live in their house.

Rather than a board game proper, round 4 for me was actually a sweet Vintage Cube. I was a little out of my depth, but I managed to cobble together a fun RG aggro deck. Ended 1-2, but I did get to borrow my opponent’s reanimated Griselbrand for my one win.

I took third in Splendor Duel (it was four players, round robin), so my quest to not get last once was a success. In the fast game round (aka the “some luck would be nice” round), I actually got my first first: Magical Athlete.

Getting ready for the Lion in Seattle, a 28-person board game tournament featuring a few of the best board game players in the world. I am perhaps not the best board game player in my house. Hoping to not get last just one time.

Arya works very hard behind the scenes to put this fundraiser together, and while I think that "custom Phyrexian translations" is an obvious trap you should be wary of (kidding... I hope?), this is a great event worthy of your attention and a few dollars if you're so inclined.

Going to try and post about a different donation incentive we have every day, today's incentive is custom phyrexian translations! This is the first time we have ever offered this, we only have a few available, and we're already halfway out! tilt.fyi/9uEEK0dIvs

It’s not a trade I wanted to have to make, but I’d do it again every time. I receive: One amazing hockey viewing experience. Ursula, the Sea Witch receives: One voice.

Brain, I know we're excited about going to see the Golden Knights tonight, but I need you to focus on Magic cards for like two more hours. Then we'll hockey. I swear.

In my defense, I wanted to try this in Amsterdam, but Seth and I kept just missing each other. But I did watch others play a bit and they looked like they were having fun. #WotCstaff

It's the Infinite Magic demo that @cavenessity.bsky.social made look amazing! @wotcmatt.bsky.social, @gavinverhey.bsky.social and @maro254.bsky.social this is the format I was trying to get you to try at MagicCon Amsterdam! @cassiecummings.bsky.social and @shivambhatt.bsky.social thanks for trying!

Tonight’s big success is I didn’t accidentally poison my cat. Grapes and raisins are highly toxic to cats, a fact you really should be aware of before mindlessly allowing your cat to lick the milky remnants of your unattended bowl of Raisin Bran.

One of the good newses moved to a different day. Hooray! It just goes to show: Sometimes in life, if something isn't going your way, you can just do nothing except whine a little bit and the problem will fix itself.

Got some good news at work today, then I got some additional good news, but the second good news is happening at the same time as the first good news and I can only do one of them. A great problem to have, to be sure, but still… stupid calendars.

“Yeah, I can lie to myself and you all for a few minutes and take half an apple fritter.” —Me, starting a templating meeting “Hey, look! Half an apple fritter!” —Me, ten minutes later

This sounds like something I'd make up, but I swear it's true. I needed to take my mind off the Packers blowing today's game, so I thought I'd lighten tomorrow's load by templating a few cards and the first one where I needed to look up a precedent? That precedent was ****ing Unravel. #WotCstaff
