2012 SEC Championship game where Alabama won 32-28 over Georgia. It was really the de facto national championship (teams were ranked #2 & #3) as whoever won was going to absolutely maul a weak #1 Notre Dame team in the final (which Alabama did.)

Good lord. November 25 in Atlanta is a gigantic proggasm of shows to choose from: Rush at State Farm Arena Angine de Poitrine at The Eastern BEAT (Belew/Levin/Vai/Carey) at Cobb Energy Center That shit ain't even fair or funny that I can't be at all of them.
Have any of y'all listened to every Phish show? I decided to systematically go for it a while ago. I'm about 700 in. Still a ton to work through obviously, but I've made a significant dent. Not logging anything from memory. If I went/have listened to it, not logging it until I put in a fresh listen.

Getting excited about seeing Psychedelic Porn Crumpets in September. Those dudes just don’t miss. They’re 8 for 8 on albums so far. Not many bands can say that. Hell, I can’t say that about most of my favorite bands.

Three massive ones I’ve done are Fela Kuti, Neil Young, and Frank Zappa. Took some serious time getting through those.

Vishwa Mohan Bhatt has made friends with some folks in the local Indian community here and he comes around a pretty decent bit. He's played here four times and I've managed to catch three of those shows (always free too!) He's also done collabs with Bela Fleck, Taj Mahal, etc. Monster player.

Some people are unaware that FIFA ranks the entire field of the World Cup 1-48. In a nutshell, you're basically grouped in whatever round you advanced to and then you're ranked on a variety of factor like points, goal differential, etc. to achieve the final rankings. USA came in at #12.
Protomartyr just announced a new album, Hotel Usona, that releases on September 26. Love this band so much. Hope they come back around this way. I haven't seen them in about a decade.

Antelope@wovenantelope.bsky.social · 2y ago...and though MTV is kind of a punchline now, for those of us that grew up in towns without college radio or indie radio or whatever shows like 120 Minutes, Alternative Nation, Headbanger's Ball, etc. allowed us exposure to stuff we never would've heard otherwise. Game changer.
