There was a lightning mass casualty incident on Mt. Blue Sky in Colorado this afternoon. There were nearly 100 lightning events detected within 15 miles of the summit between noon and 1:30 pm MT today. Colorado ranks 5th in the country for lightning fatalities in the last 10 years.

NEW: One killed, 4 others injured after a lightning strike atop Mt. Blue Sky earlier today. This is Colorado's first lightning fatality since Sep. 2025, when two hikers were found dead in far SW Colorado. Devastating news.

I’d like to make it clear for all the people following me what the sheer gravity of the news is. Without this facility we can’t ensure constant communication with spacecraft beyond Earth orbit. If this facility is off-line, the Artemis program cannot send a crew to the Moon.

My review of the annual TTU "Awareness of AI training": its much more accurate on "what 'AI' is" than last year, but there's a lot of focus on "ask your AI to explain its reasoning for its decisions, and if it doesn't make sense to you, then take action" which is incredibly flawed.
