I need to lean on the "songs in a musical" comparison more I think it's become gauche enough to do the "why would people just start singing in this situation??" thing that it serves as a convenient example for how stories can operate in a heightened emotional reality without losing integrity

one of my favorite bits in hi-fi rush is how 808 mimics the mannerisms of whoever is talking through her, but when nobody is she's got her own mannerisms that are very kitty and also completely on chai's wavelength. she's got one brain cell and she's sharing it with god's dumbest boy.

Rooting for the winning team seems hard. "boy I hope this game continues going the way it's already going" where's the drama? The stakes? It's like watching a heist movie and the heroes lay out the plan out and then they do what they said they were gonna do just like they said they would do it

hey, I was born in the 80s or 90s and I'm looking for a morally acceptable way to continue to like Harry Potter?? you see, I have this special condition where I just... stopped. somewhere along the way, i let the growth inside me die and i gnawed a hole in the past, and there i sit, and there i rot

Any one of the obscenely wralthy technocrats of our awful era could simply spend $100 billion to end world hunger but they won't even spend $100 million to let double fine make brutal legend 2

I think if the horrifying unknowable eldritch abomination was really that inevitable and unstoppable it wouldn't need people sneaking around doing spooky covert cult subterfuge about it. I think they're doing that cuz they don't want you to know it can be stopped. Let's go wave sticks at god

I've gotten a few pieces now of Kalkara in a more modern/mundane setting, and I never really had a clear vision of what that life looks like for her. But I'm thinking that she's a former jailhouse lawyer who got out and now works for a community legal defense org.

My only signed celebrity merch. I wore this shirt to Spamalot when it was in previews (Broadway, 2005ish) when I was ~16 and managed to get a sig after the show. Rocky Horror meant a hell of a lot to me as a "don't know I'm queer" kid. I would be a VERY different person without it. Dammit [Janet]

ngl if i had magneto powers & i encountered a single item i couldn't magnetize i would immediately give up and assume my powers were gone forever without even attempting to use them on anything else
