Isekai as a genre is exploding in popularity because it appeals to a universal desire to get hit by a truck rather than live in the 21st century.
It's honestly a catch-22. You show up at the hospital crying and screaming in pain and you're just a dramatic drug-seeker who gets hauled off to psych to be abused. You sit quietly and be non-disruptive and distract yourself and, well, OBVIOUSLY you're just a drug seeker and not ACTUALLY in pain.
