Enfin les mots sont posés, qui répondent à ma gêne croissante face au succès récent du mot "polarisation", en particulier pour décrire la crise démocratique actuelle. 'It’s Not Polarization; It’s the Radicalization of the Political Right' Merci @pettertornberg.com

No privileged US access to Europe’s tech law oversight. We call on the European Commission to halt plans for a new “dialogue” with the US that could weaken enforcement of EU tech laws. Cooperation must not come at the expense of rule of law and sovereignty. peoplevsbig.tech/no-privilege...

No Privileged US Access To Europe’s Tech Law Oversight Civil Society Statement - People vs. Big Tech

We, the undersigned civil society organisations call on the EU Commission, in the strongest possible terms, to halt any plans to create a new “dialogue”

Last minute: the European Commission has confirmed new talks with the US following attacks on EU tech rules. As pressure mounts, Big Tech is gaining even more influence. Civil society is still not in the room

🚨 New report from People vs Big Tech: Algorithms on X & TikTok disproportionately push content from far right parties to new users, squeezing out moderate parties. EU & French authorities must enforce the Digital Services Act to protect democracy. peoplevsbig.tech/x-and-tiktok...

One Year Trump. Let the past year serve as a reminder of what a malicious, vindictive, greedy leader can do to a country in one year. And let it be a reminder that a strong opposition, strong institutions, and independent and free media are necessary guardrails in a strong democracy.

Elon Musk’s X is helping people create indecent images of KIDS. His response to outcry this week? He doesn’t give a f*ck. Imagine his face if millions get the f*ck off of X though. Join millions deleting their accounts. Link in bio to download this poster for free and spread this worldwide.

This is spot on. This AI frenzy and madness gives such an eerie feeling. AI is forced upon us at every opportunity as big tech companies try to bag as many billions as possible from venture capital before the music stops. But the environmental and societal damage will be massive and long-lasting.

Hello. I wrote a nice long essay about AI and this very strange moment where we're constantly told we're living in the dawn of a strange new future but the only thing that's actually clear is that everyone feels pretty unmoored and uncertain. I hope you'll read it

Today (w/ @ox.ac.uk @stanford @MIT @LSE) we’re sharing the results of the largest AI persuasion experiments to date: 76k participants, 19  LLMs, 707 political issues. We examine “levers” of AI persuasion: model scale, post-training, prompting, personalization, & more!  🧵:
