From the beautiful native stereoscopic 3D animation of The Book of Life to... this. Cameron, Soderbergh, and Aronofsky was bad enough, but Gutierrez??? I never expected him to give up on art. Looking at the image it appears to be straight up slop 😓

Three AI animated series are heading to Prime Video streaming via Amazon MGM/AWS-backed GenAI Creators' Fund: 'Cupcake & Friends;' 'Love, Diana Music Hunters;' and 'Punky Duck' from Jorge Gutierrez.

I wish I'd have set up a dedicated optical drive enclosure earlier! It's so convenient to rip multiple discs at once and cover all use-cases with one box: CD/DVD/BD/3D/UHD, redump, disc quality scans & more! Highly recommend all physical media enthusiasts look into it. #dvd #bluray #uhd #4k #makemkv

1. original legit firmware UHD Pioneer manufactured the last month before they removed makemkv libredrive compatibility in firmware

2. reflashed Asus (variant of UHD LG WH16NS60) to redump-compatibile firmware which allows for advanced dumping of CDs and certain console games, and libredrive

3. reflashed LG to commercial disc validation firmware which allows checking disc quality, and libredrive

4. reflashed 2022 pioneer to UHD-capable 2020 firmware with libredrive, repackaged into generic Chinese enclosure

5. reflashed 2024 pioneer to UHD-capable 2020 firmware, in Pioneer BD enclosure

The entire home entertainment division of Disney has been eliminated... wow To go from Buena Vista putting out stellar stereoscopic 3D Blu-ray releases every few months to completely dead in 15 years. Tragic :( www.thewrap.com/creative-con... #disney #marvel #3d #physicalmedia #bluray #dvd #film

If you're on the fence about getting a DLP projector or an aspect ratio changing screen, don't hesitate. You'll regret having not done it sooner. I am so sad Wicked isn't on 3D Blu-ray. The UHD versions are among the best looking and sounding home media releases ever 😓 #projection #3d #hometheater

You can do anything."A photograph of the projection screen displaying Wicked. Elphaba looks at Glinda bashfully, with a twinkle in her eye following Glinda's words of encouragement. Yeah I don’t understand why the focus in articles like this is always “is it working for you” instead of “what do you have to say about the massive ethical implications of using it?”

That's so much the wrong direction (centralisation, opacity). Why not improve on the DNS-based verification? (which is decentralized and transparent) Sounds like a cheap marketing move :/.

Bluesky is unethically collaborating with dictators. It operates a Turkish content labeler, which any account registered in Turkey is required to subscribe to, and censors posts. I'm disappointed, but not surprised. Was a good run here.

Seeing Bluesky had to remove posts the Turkish government demanded removed Is it possible to do this similar to how chilling effect (now lumen) handles DMCA notices? Content preserved but removed? Like this? lumendatabase.org/notices/5106...

YouTube and twitter are really turning up the dial on their awful ai-ml video encoding. Everything looks disgusting when compared to higher quality original copies. I wish companies like Disney were smart enough to upload their videos in 2160p containers to get around this mess, but alas.
