Cutting a nerve of the hand alters the organization of digit maps in primary somatosensory cortex
Nature Human Behaviour, Published online: 13 August 2026; doi:10.1038/s41562-026-02548-8Weber et al. show that the normally conserved spatial organization of the digit response maps in primary somatosensory cortex is altered in patients with surgically repaired hand nerves.

I am excited to share that our paper is accepted by @neuripsconf.bsky.social . This is an interesting work that uses tools and insights from comp cog neuroscience to understand LLMs. Nice work by @louannapan.bsky.social and @doctor-bob.bsky.social.
Large Language Models can do a lot of things. But do you know they cannot explore effectively, especially in open-ended tasks? Recently, Lan Pan and I dropped a preprint to investigate how LLMs explore in an open-ended task. arxiv.org/abs/2501.18009

1/ The world's songbirds sing in just 8 basic sounds. And where a bird lives decides which ones it uses. My first PhD paper is out now in @science.org (www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aee6239) Here is what we found:
At Cosyne, Chris Olah from Anthropic told us that neuroscientists had “3-4 years left to make a contribution” Why was not clear. Perhaps he was hinting at the below graph accompanying today’s Claude Science launch. Apparently we’ll all be obsolete soon.
Excited that our paper is finally out in @natneuro.nature.com 🎉 Huge thanks to all my co-authors, especially @jonasterlau.bsky.social & @randolph-helfrich.bsky.social for the support and great teamwork 🍀
