experiencing one of those "you don't under any circumstances gotta hand it to them" dilemmas when the air quality drops and the sky fills with smoke because acres of forests are burning in the distance but the sunlight gets all buttery, warm and generally more aesthetically pleasing.

rewatching SHOOT 'EM UP — definitely not a great movie, but extremely successful at being a live action cartoon where Bugs Bunny is played by Clive Owen and he murders 300 people

nap dream: three people playing cards in an nyc hotel room but the cards were black plastic garbage bags + the room is full of sets of three lizards. when i ask the lizards why they're there, three more lizards would appear, one of whom would tell me this happened because i asked about the lizards.

started watching PEACEMAKER, which has already done the impossible and made an opening credits sequence I refuse to skip. all tv shows should start with the entire cast doing a choreographed dance routine for no reason at all.

tired: houses in my neighborhood that never take down their giant skeletons inspired: houses in my neighborhood that never take down their skeletal horses or abominable snowmen

i dunno how you screw up and don't release a BLADE movie. it's got the lowest barrier to entry of any Marvel movie (guy with sword kills vampires), it doesn't need a huge sfx budget (guy with sword kills vampires) and its univeral theme appeals to everyone (guy with sword kills vampires)

the only review i'm listening to about the Odyssey is from the two ladies who review every movie in their car and who sometimes bring a third lady to chime in about the movie in their car

while i do appreciate when editors call out stuff in my scripts i should've avoided in the first place, i love when editors point out stuff in my script they really like too. some days i think those little notes are all that keep me going.

got to the 5th episode of THE VAMPIRE LESTAT where he writes a song for Claudia and all my "haha, these catty vampires are a delight" went right out the window in a wave of sadness. these motherfuckers got me.

me at a hollywood pitch meeting, before getting escorted out by security: "it's The Metamorphosis, but when Gregor Samsa turns into a cockroach, we hear the transformers sound effect"

how i know i'm making some kinda progress— me before: i think that person doesn't like me, so based on that voice in my head, i do not like them. me now: i think that person doesn't like me, but that might just be my insecurity talking so maybe i should confirm/deny before i establish a vendetta

as bad as the pivot to video was, i wish the world would pivot to video without dumb music slathered over it. like, people are still able to enjoy a 7 second cat video without a blown out version of the pink panther theme laid on top.

At 19 years of age, Alex Toth landed work for the Green Lantern book. During this, he became very ill and stressed about deadlines. His mother called the offices and he soon received this letter.
