My heart sank when I saw this. I hate to see Olid at a Manchester City rival. Still, I wish her continued success. I followed her progress at Hearts in Scotland for most of her time there, leading up to their league title last season. She did an amazing job with fewer resources than her top rivals.

Manchester United are set to appoint the former Hearts manager Eva Olid as their new head coach this week. @sport.theguardian.com www.theguardian.com/football/202...

This was massive from Mimi Van Zanten, chasing down Trinity Rodman from deep inside the Washington Spirit half to recover the ball in the San Diego Wave's box. It was perhaps the best example of her relentless, tenacious defending in yesterday's game. Overall, great performance.

Today, Jamaica's Sunshine Girls have delivered a massive gift for the country on our Emancipation Day, defeating Australia's Diamonds 46-45 in the Commonwealth Netball semifinals. A historic win for Jamaica and equally historic defeat for Australia who miss the final for the first time in history.

In UEFA's own words, the boycott is in effect "for so long as these proposals remain alive, unless this proposal has been abandoned in its entirety and binding assurances have been given that FIFA will never again open its governance or competitions to private ownership."

This applies to men's and women's European teams, which means that as of this moment European teams are boycotting the upcoming U20 Women's World Cup in September and the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil.

Reggae Girlz forward Paige Bailey-Gayle has signed for Swiss club GC Frauen Fussball, popularly known as Grasshopper Women, after leaving fellow Swiss club FC Rapperswil-Jona, where she spent the past season. She joins Reggae Girlz striker Kayla McKenna, who has been with Grasshopper since 2025.

Bringing this back. I used to call Bunny Shaw and Khiara Keating our sword and our shield at Manchester City. Time passes, things change and people follow their chosen paths. Good luck to Khiara in her future endeavours and we're thankful for her service. We will miss her. Bunny, let's keep winning.

I actually thought she was going to settle at León. This is Trudy Carter's third signing in Mexico since August 2023 when she signed for Atlético de San Luis. She then signed for Spanish club Espanyol in 2024 before returning to Mexico where she joined León in July 2025.

Xolos Femenil announces they've signed Jamaica international Trudi Carter. Carter had been with León since 2025, scoring 5 goals in 21 games. Carter has also scored 13 in 27 appearances for the Reggae Girlz. (Stats according to Soccerway)

Welcome graphic for Trudi Carter. Carter is pictured in the center of the image, smiling with her arms folded across her chest. She's wearing a red Tijuana jersey with black accents and the iconic badge in the center of the chest on top of a black hoop. Below that is another copy of the logo atop a rectangular object that reads "Bienvenida Trudi Carter Delantera" (Welcome Trudi Carter Forward). At the top of the image in letters stylized to resemble paint is the word "Refuerzo" (Reinforcement), and at the bottom in a similar font is the phrase "#Somos Perrisimas" (We are the Dogs [Perrisimas literally translates to "little dogs" but in this case it's more of a diminutive nickname]). The background is a gradient from left to right going from red to purple, with the black negative space resembling graffiti with the word "Xolos" appearing multiple times.

Reggae Girl Jade Bailey is on the move five months after joining Piteå IF in Sweden. Querétaro F.C. Femenil in Liga MX Femenil has announced that she has signed with the club. The 30-year-old defender has played for Sheffield United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, among other clubs, in England.

If Trump got FIFA to suspend a red card, why can't a UK politician do it too? Member of Parliament Noah Law has brilliantly addressed FIFA: "At a time when our multilateral system and the international rules-based order is under threat, I urge you to treat this matter with the utmost seriousness."

The possession football disciples say you don't retain possession just for the sake of possession. Norway did exactly that. They held the ball just so Brazil wouldn't have it, happy to just pass it and go nowhere forever. They hardly made a speculative cross or pass in attack. Genius. Discipline.

A Melbourne City legend. For 23-year-old Holly McNamara to achieve what she has despite three ACL injuries is incredible. I wish this champion and back-to-back Golden Boot winner all the best as she moves on to the next stage of her career elsewhere. I'd love to see her at Manchester City one day.
