Permanently exhausted Library goblin in a NYS middle school Dog person who has never had a dog she/her

My 25th high school reunion is tomorrow. Not planning on going. My mom, meanwhile, threw a 75th birthday party for her high school graduating class tonight. Cheaper and better food for hers.

My sister runs a dog rescue in Rochester, NY. Sometimes this means I just get an endless supply of cute dog photos in exchange for helping write posts and PetFinder profiles. And sometimes it means I cry over puppies I will never meet.

Made it home (I remain slightly cursed by the travel gods but today's delays were less) and I'm gonna crash in my own bed and I'm so excited about it.

About to crash after several days of non-stop action. Another #SDCC completed. My right leg may never forgive me for spending all day Tuesday at Disneyland and then immediately going into Con mode.

Some of you may recall that last year when I went to SDCC I made it to the airport without my wallet and still got through security because it's all nonsense. You will be pleased to know my wallet is accompanying me on my entire journey this year.

It's the last week of school here in NYS. The middle schoolers are feral. The adults are tired. We still have 254 items checked out of the library in spite of my best efforts. They are still breaking Chromebooks. #SchoolLibrary

Y'all, it was a DAY at the middle school today. The tornado warning that interrupted the 7th grade field trip was only part of it. The Earth Science students had to delay their Regents exam because somehow the school got (ordered?) the wrong version of the test... (1/2)

My mother, the inimitable Jane Yolen passed away this morning after a blessingly short fight with Alzheimer’s. She did not suffer, and went peacefully into the ether which, I am certain for her, will be filled with words of the most exquisite beauty and meaning.

It's like 80 and humid in this library and I am soooo sticky and it's gross and I have to move thousands more books and I'm mellllllting

Disinfecting wipes are Forbidden at school. Fire Inspector spotted mine and told me to take them home but there were Special ones I could use. I pointed out the district doesn't provide wipes. Just salt water based cleaning spray and I wasn't going to ruin chromebooks by spraying them directly.
