I recently read Huda F Cares? by @yesimhotinthis.bsky.social and it is a superb sequel that may even be better than the first one. It’s hilarious and very realistic/relatable in terms of sibling and family dynamics. Do yourself a favor and read this book!!!!

Black people had to fight in the courts for a century after slavery to get our basic rights in America. White people simply decided “DEI is racist” and with a snap of a finger all the equity programs are gone. Nobody had to go to court,nobody had to prove disparate impact… just vibes.

Was super happy my library has this now, and I am the first to read it! 🥰 I loved reading this so much! It brought back memories of my own experience when I was 9, in the 90s,and my parents separated. Wish I would have had this book then, buy happy it is here now and will reach out to so many.

I want to write a picture book on consent for the kids that come from large families where grandma plays by smacking their grandkids butt and aunts and uncles force their nieces and nephews to hug/kiss and God forbid that kids says no bc then you’re being disrespectful and 😠😠😠

👇🏾 When Tr*mp, a convicted felon, talks about "home grown criminals," he doesn't mean himself. To him, "criminals" are Black and brown people. Full stop. This is why understanding HOW Black and brown people are treated differently by police and courts matters. This is not a drill. This is fascism.
