Our local Oystercatcher pair chose an interesting place to nest this year...on a tiny patch of gravel right outside of our offices! Watching mum, dad, and their growing chick over the last few weeks has brought us a lot of joy - enjoy some pictures of the happy family! 🪶🐥

The Defence School of Transport at Leconfield, East Yorkshire has been running BioBlitzes for local naturalists at this restricted MOD site for 4 years. The site is running more events in 2026, please see the attached poster for dates and more information. #DSTLeconfield #BioBlitz

It was wonderful to welcome 80 people to the YNU's annual conference in York last Saturday to discuss means and methods of increasing the recording effort of some of Yorkshire's under-recorded taxon, and improve the quality of records sent in to our volunteer county recorders.
