playing mario kart wii again confirms my opinion that if you want your game to have cool shit, it needs to also have absolute bullshit. those are two sides of the same coin. so much cool shit is either when bullshit goes in your favor, or when bullshit is narrowly avoided.

One of the more misogynistic takes currently trending in the AI policy space is "women use less AI than men because they have less tech literacy" Ok but have you considered that women use less AI than men because we have more tech literacy?

the other angle that i dislike is that technology MUST benefit only the oppressors. there's a real lack of imagination "inventions like the iphone take back more than they give" yes but it didn't have to be this way. we can build a better world. but we have to make a little bit of an effort

I feel like I’m slowly losing my mind to how my entire field, and an artform I love, is being destroyed by capitalism and how people don’t seem to care. People will get upset about AI art in a game but be fine with AI code. Code is the pillar holding a game together, it’s art too!!
