Was Terry Bamber a secret villain in a James Bond film? He nearly made it into The World Is Not Enough, in the preamble to the Thames boat chase. Watch to find out who he was, and why his scene didn’t survive the cut. youtu.be/L-IFZbRx1gM #YoungIndyChroniclers #JamesBond
Terry Bamber calls Phantom Train of Doom the best episode he worked on, with a cast he still loves: Paul Freeman, Freddie Jones, Ronnie Fraser, and Mac McDonald. He’s got a story from one shoot he can finally tell. youtu.be/L-IFZbRx1gM #YoungIndyChroniclers #IndianaJones
Terry Bamber's first film job came down to timing: his dad was on a Disney film at Pinewood when a runner spot opened on The Man with the Golden Gun. He stepped in right out of his A levels, onto a Bond set. youtu.be/L-IFZbRx1gM #YoungIndyChroniclers #JamesBond #IndianaJones
Terry Bamber was second AD on three Young Indiana Jones episodes, then spent decades on six Bond films with Barbara Broccoli. This week: big productions and the Young Indy crew, including Peter MacDonald. #StarWarsDetours #YoungIndyChroniclers #StarWars
George Lucas told Brendan Hay how he designed the Ewoks: artists kept bringing fierce bears, and he kept pushing back, dare to be cute. They leaned in, and the choice... was not well received. youtu.be/VfEGcm5QVrE #StarWarsDetours #YoungIndyChroniclers #StarWars

George banned Mara Jade from a Luke pitch unless she died, then had the writers convinced "Grand Moff Tarkin" was really "Grand Moof," before admitting he was messing with them. youtu.be/VfEGcm5QVrE #StarWarsDetours #YoungIndyChroniclers #StarWars
Star Wars Detours writers had a term for the stuff that would never answer to official continuity: D-Canon. It's short for Detours Canon, but it sounds exactly like decanonize, which tracks, since none of it had to sync up with anything official.
Rachel Bloom, the musical mastermind behind Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, wrote the first Star Wars musical, but it never made it to screen. A pod racing musical set on Tatooine, where Darth Vader goes undercover to race one last time, chasing the days he raced as a kid.
Star Wars Detours Head Writer Brendan Hay describes George Lucas's role in the Detours writers' room like bumper bowling. The writers kept pitching, and George mostly let it ride, stepping in only when something went too far.

During our visit to Skywalker Ranch, Ben Burtt Hosted a screening of his director’s cut of Attack of the Hawkmen at Skywalker Sound. He graciously allowed us to record his Q&A. Young Indy Chroniclers Season finale at Skywalker Ranch is out now on YouTube and Podcast Apps.
Ben Burtt showed us his first cut of Beersheba, Palestine 1917. No romance. No well scene. No kiss. Daniel Craig is killed by a horse. Catherine Zeta-Jones is tracked through the city by her own blood trail. The entire ending was reshot on a completely different set.
Ben Burtt’s office at Skywalker Ranch: Ben's original Star Wars working script with his notes. The landing gear of the Pol Giant triplane from Attack of the Hawkman — all that survived after they destroyed the model to film the climax.
We took a detour into darkness…

In 1929 Jiddu Krishnamurti stood before thousands of followers and told them to stop following him. They were expecting salvation. He gave them doubt, skepticism, and the tools for looking within. "Truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever."
