Betye Saar, the LA–based artist whose assemblages tackled the brutality of racism, anti-Blackness, and the stereotypes they engender, died in her sleep Sunday morning, July 26, Robert Projects gallery announced. She was 99 years old - just 4 days shy of turning 100 July 30. More in the alt text 👇
