The number of things I see where the take is something where I’m like “well if you had experience with the labour and union history around this issue, your opinion wouldn’t sound so naïve”. The number of people unaware of even the main aspects of the 8 Hour Day campaigns.
The spirit of NSW ICAC and its interrelation with the psyche of NSW politics is best understood by the fact that Nick Greiner, the Premier who created it, was the first sitting Premier to be ICACed. The machinery needs the grease of corruption AND the flush valve.

I had to explain this to a crowd of 18 year olds who didn’t understand the tax changes but thought they were vibes bad. Letting them know ‘it’s taxing property gains the same as your employment income’ created a lot of thoughtful faces.

I’m not saying that people with SMSFs are self-selected into being some of the worst loophole exploiting overconfident tax minimisers, but I will say actual studies of the cohort show they’re overconfident in attempting tax minimisation in the most aggressively blatant ways. Great loophole to close.

Getting new lawyers at work and I’ve been having the “hi this is what I do and what I can do for YOU” talk with them. Generally resulting in them being a bit gobsmacked. Never really had to sell my skills before this way but I’m getting very appreciative results.
Two months ago, I returned a fertile #kakapo egg (Whetu-A3) to the nest and tried to remove another infertile egg from beneath her. She wouldn't let me take the egg, so I offered her the new one. Tricky to do that with one hand while using my phone to see what I was doing! Luckily she took the egg!
I mean. Why NOT run a candidate where the attack ads are so bleedingly obvious? …this is some 5D chess to manipulate the argument over whether the individual can receive a fair trial, isn’t it?
