You know what's way better now than in the 80s? 80s television. Cheers, Knight Rider, Columbo, Miami Vice etc much of it was shot on film with Hollywood-grade production but unless you were in the edit booth people only saw it on their shitty tube TVs back then. Stream it now it's absolute cinema.

Underrated factor in BO decline IMO is Disney flipping their release schedule. Gave Marvel the nostalgic Lucasfilm holiday window (when folks want something for the whole family) and parked Indiana Jones/Star Wars in (18-34 prime demo) summer. Dud rate exploded for both studios. Sony knows whats up
