While you can sort albums for a while now in the web app, they were not sortable in our iOS and Android apps. In the upcoming zeitkapsl 1.18 release, you can now sort by name, creation date, last modified and number of media items. #e2ee #unplugbigtech #did

Our storage and compute costs just went up ~35%. It cuts directly into the margin we use to build and improve #zeitkapsl We could pass that on. Instead: Inhousing our storage layer Gradually replacing Hetzner and Backblaze Best case: No price increase, stronger resilience, and faster uploads. 🤞

Currently following the upload progress, especially on initial library imports on the mobile apps was a bit intransparent. With the next update, there is a nice upload progress view on the grid as well as in the settings page. #didit #degoogle

And especially for longer videos you can now also follow the upload progress on the main grid view

With the upcoming release of the Android (v 1.15.5) and iOS (v1.15.6) apps we have made it easier to add content to albums. You can now also directly add photos from the album view. Adding photos from the main grid still works as well of course. Now it works both ways #degoogle #googlephotos
