Ungagged | Co-Founder of Can't Buy My Silence - a campaign committed to end the misuse of NDAs to buy victim's silence @cbmsuk.bsky.social cantbuymysilence.com SHE SAID (Film): https://youtube.com/watch?v=gjNnP7l2Ojk&t=19s

Landmark moment in Parliament this week. Peter Kyle, the new Minister for Biz & Trade, confirming the Govt’s commitment to ending the misuse of NDAs in cases of harassment and discrimination. We’ll continue working with MPs, Ministers and stakeholders to ensure these protections stay watertight.

BREAKING: UK MPs passed the Employment Rights Bill incl. Amdt 22, banning misuse of workplace NDAs in harassment & discrimination cases. Next: Lords sign-off, then consultation - where strong regs are vital. Huge thank you to Louise Haigh MP and Justin Madders MP for all their support.

🚫 The UK is set to ban NDAs that silence victims of harassment and discrimination. Campaigners call it a watershed moment for workers’ rights. All workers – even freelancers and interns – will be protected. @zeldaperkins.bsky.social “It is truly a workers’ rights win.”

Rule of law: UK to ban NDAs in cases of harassment and discrimination

The UK government has said it will legislate to stop employers from using non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to cover up harassment and discrimination in what campaigners hope will lead to a sea change in workplace culture.

Hugely important win for victims, survivors and whistleblowers! The legal system must never be weaponised to silence victims and survivors and allow perpetrators to abuse with impunity. Massive thanks to @zeldaperkins.bsky.social @cbmsuk.bsky.social and all survivors who fought for this win

‘Nowhere for them to hide any more’: Zelda Perkins’ fight against NDAs after Harvey Weinstein

Excited to speak at the first SXSW London next week. Whistleblowing is vital to a functioning democracy, but too often it comes at a cost. Looking forward to speaking about how NDAs are used to silence truth, and what we can do to stop it.

@zeldaperkins.bsky.social is speaking at the inaugural @sxsw.com London next week! Catch her on June 3rd, 2:20PM at Truman Brewery, discussing “Is Whistleblowing Dead?” with @psst-org.bsky.social, Mark MacGann & Will Alpine. How do we protect those who speak out? #SXSWLondon

During last week’s Committee Stage debate on the Employment Rights Bill, Baroness Jones of Whitchurch gave what may be the clearest indication yet of Labour’s intent to legislate on NDAs No backtracking. No excuses. Now is the time to act, and deliver the reform workers have waited far too long for

This is a crucial moment. A group of amendments, led by Baroness Helena Kennedy & drafted with CBMS, have full cross-party & sector support. We need the strongest version to return to the Commons. Every worker in every sector deserves full protection from silence and abuse.

Another testimony. Another reminder of what silence costs NDA misuse isn’t rare, it’s systemic. Across education, media, healthcare... Not isolated cases, but a culture of enforced silence 🗓️ MPs & Peers: join us May 7 (5–6.30PM) in Parliament to hear why reform must go further

Just watched this take off in less than 24 hours. 20,000 people already demanding an end to abusive NDAs. The government has an opportunity to put Labour values into practice by legislating to protect workers’ rights and remove barriers to work by taking action on abusive NDAs.

🚨 Yesterday, @louisehaighmp.bsky.social launched a petition calling on the govt to stop NDA misuse in the workplace. Nearly 20k have signed in 24hrs — now let’s show them public support is just as strong as the cross-party backing in Parliament. ✍️ Sign & share: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/st...

If the Opposition's Business Spokesperson is speaking up more clearly for workers’ rights than the party that's meant to be championing them… something’s not right. Last week’s NDA debate showed clear cross-party support. The govt must act: no worker should be silenced.
