We’re going to Indiana tomorrow. The folks I’m traveling with seem to be packing and getting ready for a completely different trip than the one we have planned. Note: when I say “planned” there isn’t so much a plan as the general statement of “we’ll do some things when we get there”
looks like I’ll be in Bloomington Indiana later this month
I disapprove of this on a pedagogical level but I also completely understand creating a robot puppet so you don’t have to interact with the kind of men who would take online classes from “Harvard Business School”
What are we even doing here? www.nytimes.com/2026/08/22/b...
I have a sword, you have no shirt, together, we’re a the cover for a 70s fantasy paperback
I read the statement of “support” and there’s nothing in it that says she has to accept us for who we are or that trans people deserve protections in law.
I love to cook — I don’t have what it takes to be a chef, but I just want to briefly embody that energy of like “just ended a late night shift, now I’m going to go home and make myself something tasty” I really miss that kind of dopamine cooking for one’s self
Small child who went out for halloween as “pants”
Absolutely not.
I give it about 6 months before a politician seriously suggests doing this, and I think we really need to aggressively talk about how doing that is like, crime against humanity levels of bad.
Trump on transgender kids: "In fact, hospitals now are doing reverse surgery, at my order"
“I downloaded a roadtrip playlist” “who’s on it?” “I don’t know”
This, broadly, is why we shouldn’t just let people homeschool their kids.
I went from ‘how bad could it be?’ to ‘Google search Does Lacuna Inc. take Blue Cross Blue Shield’
i want to reskeet the horrible ai generated grub burrito picture but it actually kinda makes my stomach turn looking at it and i don't want to be responsible for inflicting that horror on anyone else
Sometimes you lash out and call someone a bad dog, and then you realize maybe you’re having a lot of unaddressed ambient stress.
My job didn’t come with spreadsheets so I had to make some of my own to maintain equilibrium.
the spreadsheet job debate is hilarious because everyone claims to hate spreadsheet jobs until they get a spreadsheet job themselves

Russel Wright's American Modern, is trans (you are not allowed to ask "in what direction")
museum texture of the day (pic stolen from my friend who was visiting edition)
I would allow C-3PO to make art, but only because he possesses one of the qualities that will permit one to make good art (is a homosexual)
today in work things: slipped the following in a memo “this doesn’t affect the outcome, but they did it badly and I had to point it out”
It’s finally happened: work is sending me to the farthest-away place work is allowed to send me to. Later this month, I’ll be in a 900-ish population town about 6 hours away from home. Do I stay at the hotel that looks “murder-y”? It’s the closest one.

with all the nonsense some people claim it says, I’m not even sure the Bible belongs in churches.
This is correct. You can't understand American literature and history without some understanding of the Bible and of American religious history. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
Currently watching a video from the late 1980s put out by the Elevator and Escalator Safety Committee, teaching children about how to use elevators/escalators safely. There’s a clown cat. He raps. How is it possible to fit so much zeitgeist into one low budget film?
My wife (unaware of how much I have heard of the muffler men): honey, have you ever heard of something called a muffler man?
So when I mix up words, it’s going to be another one that starts with the same first letter that’s in the same level of generality: “box” “basket” and “bucket” get swapped a bit, and (worryingly) last night it was “stylist” and “sorceress”
