When I said before the election that I would fight for every vote, the last month is not quite what I had in mind! Thank you for the support from inside and outside Goldstein, and to my incredible volunteers who have been scrutineering day in, day out. 🧵

The Australian Electoral Commission has agreed to conduct a partial recount in Goldstein. The recount will look at first preference ballot papers for myself and Tim Wilson, and all informal ballot papers. I will be making no further comment until the process is complete.

I’ve asked the AEC whether a recount is appropriate in Goldstein. They will judge that request on its merits. Thank you again everyone for your support. ZD
