A win for clean energy. After sustained crossbench and industry pressure, the Govt has extended the 50% CGT concession for foreign renewable energy investment from 2030 to 2040, providing greater certainty for the investment Australia needs to reach net zero.

A major win for small business after crossbench advocacy. The Govt will lift the small business CGT threshold from $2 million to $10 million, expanding access to existing concessions for around 2.7 million active small businesses.
Victim-survivors should never have to choose between poverty & safety. Family law can be confronting, costly and weaponised by perpetrators, while too many are left without legal aid, housing or support. We need a national royal commission into domestic and family violence.
Today, my team and I are proud to launch the Warringah Electorate Office Reconciliation Action Plan, the first RAP adopted by an electorate office in Australia.
Earlier this year, I moved an amendment calling for stronger safeguards where these extraordinary powers could be used on children. Australia can keep people safe while upholding human rights, proportionality and the rule of law.
Modelling from the NSW Net Zero Commission shows climate impacts are dragging on productivity, wages, jobs and food prices. NSW residents are already estimated to be around $20,000 a year worse off due to historical climate change, with costs set to rise further without stronger action.
The Prime Minister once warned that selling off Sydney Harbour’s public assets would be a “retrograde step” because “if we get it wrong once, it disappears forever.” I’m calling on the Government to protect this site for future generations, not carve it up for the highest bidder.
Here are this week’s bills scheduled for debate. I have concerns about the Tax Reform Bill - a large omnibus bill proposing significant changes across our tax system. While I support CGT reform for property, I am concerned by the Govt’s decision to extend those changes to shares & trusts.
Leaked docs show that BHP delayed renewables, slowed electrification & weakened their climate commitments. And BHP reportedly received $622m in fuel tax credits after paying less than $9m under the Safeguard Mechanism. This is greenwashing propped up by bad policy.
