Returning to Bluesky after some time away. Who are the best people to follow these days? Especially eager to find folks sharing math, programming, design, science and long form links

I have never seen anything quite like the comms from @jay.bsky.team as she and the Bluesky team build the thing in real time (and, inevitably, run into all the rough edges of running a new network). It’s remarkable, builds trust in the service, and reminds me of the magic of very early Twitter.

drank my first coffee in four months and everything in shiny and beautiful and i swear if i tense my eyes and look close enough i can see molecules

I feel like we need an appreciation post for the Bluesky team 💙 Sending y’all a big hug and thanks for building Bluesky in open🦋

FYI not only are we handing out more invites to y’all who are posting, we are also handing out more invites to people inviting other awesome posters 👀💙

Spoke with @zoink.bsky.social this morning about growth. His advice: by the time you do analysis on what behaviors lead to retention, it’s too late. You probably have a hypothesis (ie. following people, having a stream of content) that is true - just go execute on that. (Can do analysis in tandem)

Okay this just got a lot more fun, you can now select a user in the graph to see all their connections! Should make it a lot easier to read going forward. Click on any blank space to get back to the full graph! - https://bsky.jazco.dev/

long term, with fully portable user accounts, your continued use of our services would be a vote of confidence in us. not a hostage situation where you lose all your friends and creations if you leave. this is set up to be a federated republic, not a walled-off empire.
